Wildfires represent one of the greatest threats to the natural resources of our country, but they also represent a problem with connotations of civil protection and alarm social that responsible administrations are obliged to address and solve. “Wildfires Technical Conferences” promoted by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, they address these problems every year, providing different perspectives.
The Technical Conference on Wildfires this year, 2023, is titled “Wildfires. A global risk.” In this edition they will be held at the facilities of the EAR (School of Regional Administration) in person, and will be broadcast live on INFOCAM Plan YouTube channel. We will have simultaneous translation from English to Spanish and vice versa, both in person and virtually.

International Wildfire Awards 2023
As part of the Conference, on November 21 the “International Wildfire Awards” will be presented to recognize the two best works in the world of fires. These awards have the objective of encouraging the study and development of knowledge, techniques and tools for the management and action against wildfires. In this edition the two best works will be awarded.
In this edition, the Awards jury will be made up of:
- Nicolás López Molina (President of the Jury), Vice-Ministry of the Environment, Board of Communities of Castilla-La Mancha
- Manuel Páez, Head of the Planning and Defense of the Natural Environment Service, Ministry of the Environment, Government of the Region of Murcia.
- Alejandro García Hernández, Deputy Director of the COR, Junta de Andalucía
- Ángela Iglesias Rodrigo, MITECO Wildfire Defense Area Technician
- Beatriz Pérez Ramos, Full Professor of Ecology at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Biochemistry, UCLM
